Summary: Though we were dead in our trespasses, and slaves to sin, Jesus comes for us in Baptism to save us from sin and death. But, as we begin to turn our eyes to the Cross in Holy Week, we remember that the cost of Jesus saving us from sin and death is His own death on the Cross.
