‘Art and Soul’ Exhibition by Pat Coulombe

Exhibition Opening: May 4 at 2 PM (Ongoing from May - June 2024)

“The artist soul is a soul that is open to and guided by the inspiration of God, the beauty of God and the grace of God.” - Pat Coulombe

Artist’s Bio: Pat Coulombe is a retired ANiC priest and a local artist who loves the possibilities that different art media places before her. It’s difficult to choose a favourite medium whether it’s watercolour, acrylic, oil, casein, graphite or ink, to name a few. They all have such amazing possibilities. While not having a favourite medium or style, one aspect that she loves about creating is the use of colour to capture the essence of any given day. For example, the softness of a morning mist; the blue, grey or purple hues that show the coldness of a winter day; or the deep yellows and oranges that tell us that fall is in full swing and winter is approaching.

Having grown up in Newfoundland, Pat also has a love for landscapes and seascapes, and she is often making quick sketches in her mind, as well as on paper and canvas, as she remembers the sounds and the sights of her childhood. If asked why she’s spending her time painting or sketching, she would tell you that besides being totally enjoyable it’s also a way of looking at the world through a different lens; a lens that brings us just a little closer to God’s creation.
