Building Project Update - February 23rd
What’s Happening? The structural work required to support the new heating and cooling systems was completed, and a new steel structure is being installed for the new stairs to the upper hall and mezzanine. Bassi is removing the old electrical panels and activating the new ones, and electrical distribution work for the fire alarm and safety systems is ongoing. Plumbing continues for the new heating system and the new washrooms. Work to install the new ceiling in the Parish Hall and lounge-library continues. What comes next? Next week, plumbing in the washrooms will be finished! The plumbing for the boilers and other heating and ventilation equipment will continue. Hydro Ottawa will install the new electrical meter. Door frame installation will begin throughout the building and ceiling framing in the Gloucester entry will commence. Financing Update: With your prayerful and sacrificial giving, over $363,000 was raised by the Capital Campaign in 2018! While this was $58,000 short of our target for 2018, it far exceeds giving in previous years. In 2019, in order to meet the full project costs, it is important to meet our existing Capital Campaign pledges as early as possible, and to consider additional giving to meet the operational budget need, including the cost of mortgage payments.
